Total Basset Case: Bookworm

Bookworm

In honor of my monthly book club tonight I
thought I would share with you my recent favorite reads.

 duh.
The first book in the trilogy was last months book club pick.
I read all 3
but we've talked about this.
You know I loved them.

To say I loved this book is an understatement.
I enjoyed it so much that I emailed the author yesterday.
I loved it so much and wanted to let her know how much her book touched me.

I really felt that I could connect with Rachel (author) and at the same time, she really inspired me.
Since moving to Cincinnati about 3 years I have made a few girlfriends
but have always been yearning for more.
Who doesn't love new friends??
The friend search has definitely been a struggle for me.
I had a (large) great group of friends in Indianapolis and leaving that was very hard.

Her book has really encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone
and seek out friends in new places.
She also encourages you to continue to work on the
friendships you have and develop them further.
Whether you are new to a city or not, I think this book is a great read for everyone.

I picked up Bossypants from the library as a book on tape.
(P.S. I love books on tape...am I the only one? I have
also been listening to them when I run. #nerdalert).

Listen.
This book is SO funny.
I'm talking tears running down my face while I'm driving funny.
(not the safest condition)
It is read by Tina which, I think, makes it that much funnier.
If you haven't read or listened to this book you need to run to the library and pick it up.

Those are my most recent favorites.

What are you reading right now?
What should we read next month for book club??

Bossypants is on my list to read, but now I think I'm going to look for it on tape! It has to be even that much funnier with Tina reading it! My book club just read The Hotel on the corner of bitter and sweet and it was really well done. Lots of history, sweet love story...

I LOVE books on tape/cd whatever! My commute is usually a solid 40 minutes one way so it's an awesome way to pass the time, especially when you're stuck in traffic!

I def want to read the MWF Seeking BFF now. I've lived in the Cincinnati area my whole life- but so many of my friends have moved farrrr away and it gets lonely sometimes. I know what you mean about missing the big group of gals that used to get together weekly!!

I LOVE book suggestions, thank you so much! And if you haven't yet, you MUST read the Divergent series by Veronica Roth. The second book "Insurgent" just came out and I literally can't put it down. Also, loved
"the Paris Wife"... think that's it for now!

I listened to Bossypants while running too! Audible.com has become my new running crutch. And, yes, the biographies especially make me feel like a secret nerd on my jogs :) Love you, Swanny!

I have read Bossypants, finishing the first 50, and had never heard of MWF. I will HAVE to check it out - meeting people here is SO hard and I have hardly made any new friends. Thanks for the suggestion!

50 Shades trilogy ..... LOVE
MWF seeking BFF ..... began, didn't finish
Bossypants ..... haven't read

Honestly, I started MWF but then purchased 50 Shades and got, umm, distracted. Thanks for the inspiration to finish it though.

P.S. I love my monthly book club!!!!

I find it amazing how many people loved the MWF Seeking BFF. I actually reviewed it on my blog today. I wanted so badly to love that book. I had even heard it reads like a good blog, but I couldn't finish it. I did not enjoy. Fifty shades? Rocked!

I read MWF Seeking BFF and could relate to EVERY moment of the book. The entire time I read I nodded my head in agreement and couldn't help but notice how similar my situation was to hers. I moved to Chicago around the same time she did, like her for my significant other and went on multiple friend dates. Loved that book!

I just finished the new Mary Kay Andrews book Spring Fever. She's a big fave of mine, I've loved everything I've read of hers. I saw the MWF seeking BFF book at Target and it looked interesting...I'll definitely have to check it out now and I WISH I could find a monthly book club but no takers around my way. :/
