Beer Fest
Birthday
Besties
Bill Bellamy
To say that we had been looking forward to this past weekend would be the understatement of 2014.
It has been the only thing on our radar since Charlotte and with this glum weather still sticking around it has been the only light at the end of the tunnel.
And this year was no different. We met up with Katie and Derek and a few other friends and had a blast!
But let me back up to Friday when it all started.
I trekked home in the snow from work and anxiously awaited 6 of our besties to descend upon our house.
If you know me, you know I love cooking and having people over. I had whipped up two batches of chili, this fantastic queso and heart shaped cookies for our guests.
Even though the snow set them all back a little they made it safely and we got right to what we do best; comfy clothes, red wine, snacking and chatting.

We stayed up way later than we should have but it was totally worth it.
I hadn't seen my girls in a very, very long time and it was just what my soul needed.
Saturday was spent running bridal errands and trying on bridesmaid dresses for our friend Laura's wedding.
I can't wait to get our dresses in, they are going to be SO pretty.
And seeing her in her dress was icing on the cake!

Then it was Beer Fest time!!
This year we ordered our tickets early and were able to snag the VIP tickets for the same price as general admission. We were able to get in an hour earlier and sorta beat the crowds.
We met up with Katie and crew and all of our crew and took on Beer Fest in full force.

The festival is set up in our convention center and the room is full of tables and TONS of vendors (lots of local and regional breweries). There is no way you could (or should!) taste it all but we definitely found some new favorites this year.
We divided and conquered a little and everyone tried a few a lot of different beers.
We kept reminding ourselves that you don't have to drink the whole cup if you didn't like it. There was plenty to go around and the night was young!
Hanging out with best friends and tasting beers, I don't think I could have had a happier husband.
After Beer Fest we headed to a bar downtown and Mister and his buddy Chris were lucky enough to run into an all time favorite comedian of theirs, Bill Bellamy. To say they were excited would be putting it lightly.
LOL, love that you guys are still recovering! Where did you see Bill Bellemy?
ReplyDeleteLooks like you guys had a great time! I'm going to my first Beer fest in May - can't wait!

Sounds like you have another B to add after that great weekend... Boo, for Monday. (Unless you got a 3-day weekend - none here unfortunately!)
ReplyDeleteBut seriously, sounds so fun! We've got to try beerfest next time.
Someday I will make it to this event! It looks like the perfect way to celebrate a birthday. Glad you all had so much fun!! :)
ReplyDeleteBeerfest came to Columbus a few weeks ago. I didn't go since I can't drink beer, but Rick and his buddies had a blast. It looked like their cups might have been smaller than yours. I joked with Rick that I had no idea how he could get so drunk with such a small cup, but they all managed to get pretty tipsy...ha!
