You know how on about Wednesday the office chatter turns to 'what are you doing this weekend'?
My answer all week was a profound NOTHING.
And that's exactly what we did.
A lot of nothing, no plans, nothing set in stone, whatever we wanted-ness.
It was GLORIOUS.
Friday I unabashedly fell asleep on the couch until about 8:30, scrounged up some dinner and went to the neighbors for wine and sitting by the fire.
Perfection.
Saturday I had a great 10 mile run!
My long runs have been a little rough lately (hello humidity) and it felt so good to get a confident, nicely paced, not exhausted long run under my belt.
Later we took Floyd to a new (to us) dog park to meet some friends.
He did a lot of sitting, talking to humans, slobbering, wandering and a tiny bit of running.
We caught up with a few friends around town after that with a tuckered out hound dog. No plan in mind, it was so nice to have the freedom to do whatever we wanted!
Saturday night we grilled out, had some nice wine and watched a movie.
Again, just about perfect!
Sunday was full of lazy Sunday stuff.
Coffee, reading, meal planning for the next month, errands, doors and windows open all day and Floyd and I snuck a nap in as well.
As much as I love a good routine and schedule, have nothing to do was awesome.
