While we all love and adore Floyd, homeboy makes a mess.
Those huge ol chunky paws of his, while smelling of fritos, carry a lot of dirt on them.
Our carpets, stairs and sofa catch the brunt of it.
I do my best to stay on top of it but he is sneaky and once and awhile you just need a deep, deep clean.
With the holidays (and friends giving) approaching, this past weekend was the perfect time to whip the house into shape. Once I started I could not be stopped.
Thankfully this Bissell ProHeat 2x Revolution Pet showed up on our doorstep recently.
Floyd was ecstatic.
and then he heard something outside
But really, he was stoked and very very helpful.
Soon no surface was safe in our house but I started with our bedroom.
We have sort of light carpet on there and someone in this house wakes up in the night to puke often. This combo is not ideal.
I am very, very happy to report that the Bissell ProHeat 2x Revolution Pet totally got the stain out!
Next up were our stairs...these were in serious trouble.
Thankfully, my right hand man was not too far behind.
Such a slave driver.
Then it was on to the major culprit in our house...the sofa.
We try to deep clean our sofa a couple of times a year but we have slacked on that a little. We LOVE the way it looks and feels after and really should do it more often. We often put it off because it is such a tedious process. However with the Bissell ProHeat 2x Revolution Pet it went SO quickly! I was so impressed and so pleased with the way it turned out.
Supervisor on duty.
The cleaner is so lightweight that it made using it a breeze.
I choose to go with the deep clean + antibacterial option to make sure I was getting all of the dirt and grime out of the sofa.
The dry time was also a bonus...only a few hours!
(P.s. you are also getting a sneak peek at the new pillows I made! DIY and reveal soon!)
And the best news of all is that for every purchase of the Bissell ProHeat 2x Revolution Pet, Bissell with donate $10 to the Bissell Pet Foundation to help America's homeless pets! #yes
But wait, there's more!
Bissell is offering two product bundles (including a Bissell ProHeat 2X Revolution Pet and Bissell Deep Clean + Antibacterial formula) as a giveaway. 2 winners will be chosen at random across all communities.

Floyd reminds me of my basset hounds, Sadie and Gus! The double trouble pair are certainly great supervisors as I clean during the holiday season! Some of my basset friendly cleaning tips are to have a lint roller handy that can take on the shedding fur of bassets! I also love to cover up their frito scent with a fresh pine wreath decorated with cinnamon pine cones on the door and on the table. That gives your guests a great burst of holiday scent as soon as they walk through the door! The Bissel cleaner would be a huge help to combat pesky pet stains on our light carpet!
Not sure if it's a "cleaning" tip, but makes the house seem clear all the same - CANDLES.
Vinegar and water are my cleaning tips! I have used vinegar to clean the carpet multiple times and its great! alexisking24@gmail.com
Hope I win!!! lol
Omg look at him! What a slave driver. My mom actually just told me a cleaning tip about getting out grease stains which is hydrogen peroxide and a little bit of baking soda, then right into the wash!
Coffee filters are great for cleaning! They work so well even in the shower and can be used to dust the dashboard of your car. :)

My very favorite cleaning tip is lemons. I use them with vinegar and water as a cleaner, to clean bathroom fixtures and our stainless steel sink, and in the garbage disposal! My boxer's paws smell of fritos as well...and I love it! sheavh@gmail.com
I dont know if this is really a tip but for rust spots, on stainless steel, use cream of tartar and a little lemon and used a sponge and scrub well and rinse and try it straight away. you shouldn't have to do it again. :)

Ooh you know with dog + toddler we could use that around here. My current best cleaning tip... hire a college student babysitter who volunteers to do house cleaning when you go out of town :)
We literally just got this exact same one last week after our old one bit the dust. We love it! So easy to use and gets the carpets super clean!
Clean the house the day before a event and put fresh vanilla in a candle melter with plain candles never fails

My favorite cleaning tip is to use Dawn on clothing that has grease spots.

I wish I inherited my mother's efficiency for housecleaning but I'm the fool running around the day/night before company arrives cleaning and sweeping and decluttering. I bought a Bissell steam mop two weeks ago and I'm in love. The tile floors in the kitchen/dining/utility rooms have never looked so good. Until Husband and Kamden drop crumbs or walk on them with their muddy boots. Sigh.

I guess the best cleaning tip I've learned lately is to use 1/2 dish soap and 1/2 white vinegar to clean the bathtubs. It really works well and is cheap!
I'm sure Floyd helps with all the cleaning!! ;) we've been using Norwex cloths lately and they work great especially on the Windows!

My favorite cleaning tips are cleaning with products that smell fresh and have a nice scent to it. I love to clean and make sure that the house is always neat.

more of a tidy tip, but i put the recycle bin next to the garage door. as i walk into the house unwanted junk goes in the bin.

Need this badly for cleaning up after Fred & Tillie. My best cleaning tip is just to STAY ON TOP OF IT. Don't let the furballs turn to tumbleweeds, don't let sticky spills turn into gooey glued on messes. I'm finding myself cleaning a lot every day.
I like to follow a 4 week cleaning list. I start about a month before thanksgiving so I don't have to do a bunch of cleaning during the holidays.
I have an English Bulldog who reminds me a lot of Floyd. Those faces! I find that using bleach is the best bathroom cleaner ever. Its affordable and that bleach smell just smells "Clean".
I have two bassets-Elvis and Lucy- and I feel your pain of the never ending clean up! We have hardwoods, but would LOVE to be able to clean the couches!!!

Wow - I can't begin to tell you how much I need this!! I have 2 dogs that scamper in with super muddy paws all winter. I actually keep a towel by the door to try & wipe them down, but it's a losing battle. I borrow a family member's carpet shampooer a few times a year & it's such a pain transporting it back and forth. Ugh... I love my dogs, but my carpets certainly don't, lol!

Oops, forgot my cleaning tip. Actually it's s necessity for me. Spend at least 15 mins each day on small cleaning jobs. It helps prevent hours of cleaning on the weekend, which NO ONE wants to do!

Love all the pics of Floyd helping you clean, especially excited to see your DIY on the pillows! :)
I try to set aside a little time each day to clean up so I can actually enjoy the holiday
My favorite cleaning tip is to use a slightly damp cloth to dust with.
If the cloth is not moist, damp, dust will go in the air, floors, back on to tables, and everywhere, which defeats the purpose of dusting, such a waste of time and effort. You can dust your kick-knacks, ceiling fans, blinds this way, as well. Thanks for the chance! jslbrown2009 at aol dot com
Involve the kids! They are home from break and let's face it- as you get ready for the holidays they are messing things back up! At the start of winter break we have a family meeting. They have a daily task-carry their stuff upstairs every night to put back away and they each have one daily chore like folding a laundry load or wiping table and counters. Things you would have to do but they can do it for you! The reward-they will get a surprise gift on Christmas weekend! That means they can open a gift of that pile they have been eager to open from under the tree a few days early! It allows you some help and calms their excitement a bit by opening one a tad early and getting that anticipation out of their system. erinnsluka@gmail.com of www.parentinghealthy.com
